Announcing NTeX 1.1
-------------------

NTeX is a TeX distribution for Linux. It contains TeX, MF, BIBTeX ... from
web2c (Version 6.1) some dvi drivers, xfig and a lot of formats, fonts
and macros. It should contain everything people starting with TeX
and advanced users need.

There was a version 1.0, but far too large. Version 1.1 does not contain
any PK font files, but it contains a shell script to create the fonts. You
can also rely on the MakeTeXPK tool which does the work for you.

I`ve uploaded it on sunsite.unc.edu in /pub/Linux/Incoming/ntex/... There
are 13 directories ntex01 to ntex13 for the 13 disks you need for NTeX.
For further information for installing read the file INSTALL. I append an
lsm-entry to this file.

Comments, suggestions and bug reports to me. I`ve tested the stuff as
far as I could but I am quite sure that there are errors left. I will do my
best to remove them.

Have fun with TeXing,

Frank Langbein,
