Hi all,

I wrote an application to manage mounting disks by users
in an X11-based way. You simply click on the mount symbol,
and a disk will be mounted (or unmounted or a new
file system is created). There is a simple security
mechanism with a file, which contains users who are
allowed to mount/unmount/format disks resp. shut down
the system. (There is a symbol to click to shut down the system)

This tool is useful for standalone linux machines, where users
don't want to switch to root all the time they want to turn
off their machine resp. mount a disk to store some data.

The program is based on X11/Athena Widgets, and it looks pretty
nice with libXaw3d.

It can be obtained via ftp from:

saturn.mathematik.uni-kl.de: Systems/linux/local/tools/xfstool0.1-8.tar.gz
(log in as ftp, and send your email as password)

Regards,
        Torsten
