hdparm version 1.3 is now available from tsx-11.mit.edu as

	/pub/linux/IDE-performance/hdparm-1.3.tar.gz

New features include:

	- uses perror() for more meaningful error messages.
	- added -t (timing) option to perform benchmarking of disk read speed.
	- most functions (except -m, -u, -i) also work for SCSI disks,
		including the new -t (timing) function.

The -t (timing) option results in output similar to the following:

$ hdparm -t /dev/hdb

/dev/hdb:
 Timing buffer-cache reads:   32 MB in  4.59 seconds = 6.97 MB/sec
 Timing buffered disk reads:  16 MB in 10.51 seconds = 1.52 MB/sec (97% CPU)
 Estimating raw device speed: 16 MB in  8.21 seconds = 1.95 MB/sec
