Adaptec distribute a rewrite of fdisk - afdisk - which is used to
maintain the partition table on SCSI drives. Under certain
circumstances this program may destroy your partition table.

If you want to use afdisk, just make a note of the contents of the
partition table before you start. If you get corruption, you can
restore the table from this - afdisk only damages the partition table,
not the partitions themselves.

Afdisk sometimes reports cylinder numbers wrongly, so use the Linux
fdisk to determine the old contents of your partition table.
