Changes from 1.3.54 to 1.3.55
These changes are archived on ftp.crynwr.com:pub/kchanges

I cannot answer questions about Linux -- I merely summarize the kernel
patches after reading them. I try to make them useful to everyone,
but kernel hackers should take them with a grain of salt and read the
patches themselves. The patch file is patch-1.3.55.gz

- Documentation/Configure.help: revise CD-ROM text.
- linux/README: kernels built with -m486 will not run on a 386; specifying
"-fno-strength-reduce" may work around a GCC bug.
- drivers/block/floppy.c: support FDC_87306; show fdc # in errors.
- drivers/cdrom/sbpcd.c: terms for non-GPL free use (in addition to GPL);
use loglevel KERN_INFO with printk(); added support for "Vertos 100"
drive ("ECS-AT").
- drivers/char/softdog.c: fix a timer bug.
- drivers/scsi/53c7,8xx.c: some undocumented changes.
- fs/buffer.c: new system call 'fdatasync'.
- include/asm-alpha/mmu_context.h: new file for mmu contexts.
- include/asm-alpha/pgtable.h: change page invalidation code.
- include/linux/time.h: new 'timespec', 'itimerspec' structs (with nanoseconds).
- kernel/ksyms.c: add 'update_vm_cache', 'generic_file_read',
- 'generic_read_page'; remove 'proc_scsi_inode_operations'.
- kernel/sched.c: new real-time system calls: 'sched_setscheduler',
'sched_setparam', 'sched_getscheduler', 'sched_getparam',
'sched_yield' (not implemented yet), 'sched_get_priority_max',
'sched_get_priority_min', 'sched_rr_get_interval'.
