This is a beta release of a frame buffer based X server for Linux/m68k. Features: - Correct keyboard handling for the special server functions (CTRL+ALT+...). - `on the fly' video mode switching (`+' and `-' on the numeric keypad combined with CTRL+ALT). Contents of the archive: - etc/XF86Config: a copy of my XF86Config file - usr/X11R6.1/bin/XF86_FBDev: X server binary Now the Xserver honors the fields in the `Display' section of the XF86Config file. Use the following values for the `Modes' field: - To enable mode switching: Modes "" "" ... Where is a valid mode, as defined in the `Monitor' section of the XF86Config file. Note that these mode definitions use the XFree86 style timings, not the frame buffer timings! If a mode isn't supported by the frame buffer device, it will be rejected automatically. - Backward compatibility mode: the video mode is read from the frame buffer itself: Modes "default" Source patches (relative to X11R6.1+X11R6.1_960411_xc_diffs.gz) can be found in XF86_FBDev_beta_960707.diff.gz.
