This is a beta release of Amiga-lilo 0.7. It's distributed in source form only and only meant for people who really know what we're talking about... NOTE: I don't think there will ever be a real release of Amiga-lilo 0.7. Version 0.8 is already in development :-) -- README for amiga-lilo-0.7-beta1 --------------------------------------------- I had no time to update the docs, so you'll have to do it with this (and the source, of course :-) - New option for Lilo: o --root -w Use as root directory instead of `/'. Useful for creating boot floppies. People who understand a bit Dutch or German will probably have no problems remembering that `-w' is short for `--root' :-) - New config header option: o prompt "" Change the `Boot image: ' prompt to something else. - New boot record options: o alias "" Alias name for the boot record label o ramdisk "" Use a RAM disk (cfr. Amiboot). This may be useful for testing 1.3 kernels. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work yet :-( (the `root', `prompt' and `alias' options were implemented after I've got some tips from J\"org Dorchain. Thanks!) - The map file now has a new format (using tags) that's very easy to parse and extend. `dumptagfile' examines map files. Read `lilo.h' for more info. - linuxboot.diffs contains some patches for arch/m68k/boot/amiga/bootstrap.[ch] and arch/m68k/boot/amiga/linuxboot.[ch]. There's no guarantee that you'll be able to use these to compile (a working) Amiboot. - Now Lilo shows with which version of Amiboot it's compatible. - Hitting on the boot prompt will show the list of boot images, just like `?'+ or `help'+. -- CHANGES for amiga-lilo-0.7-beta2 -------------------------------------------- - Now `ramdisk ""' really works. Great for testing 1.3! - I updated the docs. - Now Lilo automatically appends `BOOT_IMAGE=
