README for ifcss.org, /software/dos/convert/hzp.zip This file created 21 August 1994 by Stephen G. Simpson There is a need for a simple 7-bit representation of Big5 for use in e-mail, news postings, etc. I have proposed a scheme called HZ+. HZ+ is a 7-bit method of representing text that is a mixture of Big5, GB, and ASCII. HZ+ is a simple extension of the popular 7-bit HZ representation of mixed GB and ASCII. This archive contains documents and software related to HZ+. See also ifcss.org, /software/unix/convert/hzp.tar.gz, where source code can be found. The latest version of this material should always be available for anonymous FTP at ftp.math.psu.edu, /pub/simpson/chinese/hzp.
