If this program does not work on your computer, most likely, the monitor is not compatible. This program requires EGA or higher for color display, or Hercules Graphics card for monochrome display. To my knowledge, the following displays are not compatible: IBM monochrome Compaq monochrome AT & T color graphics adaptor Hercules Color Card If any of the files 1 - 5 does not exit, the program also won't work. Another possibility is that memory is not enough, in this case, you should receive a message from the program. You may think you have no less than 512K, but these memory may be occupied by some stay-resident program already, to check, type chkdsk after some disk activity, you will get a summary of disk information, the last two line tell you how much memory you have, and how much is free. You must have at least 380K free memory for this program to work properly. If you have a 9-pin dot-matrix printer, you can print readme.chn by typing dayin9 readme.chn if it doesn't work, try cprint /ibm readme.chn if you have an Epson Compatible 24-pin printer, type dayin24 /ni readme.chn Panasonic, NEC, Brother, Citizen, have EPSON emulation. IBM, Toshiba do not. There is a limit on size of file you can edit: 64K Key definition imitates English text editor Epsilon (an Emacs), though not as comprehesive.
