GO_RECORD (version 2.0) written by ZHIPING YOU February 26, 1995 Thousands of Professional Go games can be freely fetched from the internet, including Meijin games starting from 1970, GoSeigen collections etc. Also, there are some comercial game collections such as Lee Chang-Ho 300 games, Kido Games, etc. Most importantly, your own games. How do you save your own games for later reviewing or view other existing professional games? GoRecord is your answer. GoRecord is a computer program for IBM PC's and compatibles that can be used to record a new game or view an existing game record. GoRecord lets you add comments, game information and move variations easily. Some of its special features are the generation of nice looking PostScript game files (adjustible grayscale for board background), the conversion between SGF format(which is used by most of the existing game record on the internet and is also used by IGS) and ISHI format (which is used by GoScribe and others), and handling Chinese comments (both input and output). GoRecord requires a color EGA/VGA in your PC. You should have the following files in the package: readme (this file) gorecord.exe (main excutable) sample (a simple sample game file with Chinese comment) sample1 (a sample with English comments) sample_v (a sample file that contains variations) sample_i (a sample file in Ishi Format) sample_c (another sample file with Chinese comment) sample.ps (a PostScript file of the sample game) sample1.ps (a PostScript file of the sample1 game) frame.ps (a frame file needed for the PS file, don't touch it!) chframe.ps (a frame file needed for the Chinese PS file, don't touch it!) gorecord.cnf (configuration file) manual.doc (manual of the program) manual.gb (a Chinse (gb) version of the manual.doc) newpy.gb (a pinyin file needed for Chinese input) whatsnew (log file for different versions) A font file cclib.16 is needed for the Chinese comment functions. Due to the file size, cclib.16 is not supplied with this package. You may already have this file for your other Chinses software. If not, you can ftp it from: ifcss.org in the font directory. Gorecord.cnf should contain the file path for cclib.16. You need to change the file path correspondingly so that Gorecord knows where to find it. To view the sample file supplied with this package, type: gorecord sample at the DOS prompt. Then, type '.' to move forward and type ',' to move backward.
