1. Platform requirement This game is for Windows 95 or Windows NT only. 2. How to install This program is archive by pkzip utility. You need to use pkunzip 2.04g or later version to decompress it. The following steps are at DOS prompt: First, make a directory like: mkdir c:\chess Then, move the chess.zip into c:\chess, and unzip it: cd c:\chess pkunzip chess.zip 3. How to play the game You can play the chess locally or through network. If you and your friend get together and you want to play Chinese chess but don't have a set, this game is what you want. You can choose "play locally" at the beginning and both of you can move piece in turn. Most of the time, you and your chess friend are far away, and you still want to play chess somehow. Then, this game is what you dream of. Through internet, this game can let you and your chess friend to enjoy the college time back in China... 4. Steps to play the game through internet First, you and your partner need to contact through e-mail or phone to arrange the game time. You also need to decide who will be the active player and who will be the passive player. Then, the passive player should tell the active player his/her hostname or IP address through e-mail or by phone. In order to get these information, you can click the "config" menu item under "network" menu. Third, once the active player gets the passive player's hostname or IP address, he/she can make connection by clicking the "ConnectTo" menu item under "Network" menu. 5. Trial version limitation The trial version has this limitation: you can only have about 50 steps to move regardless of playing locally or through network.
