I generally agree that it's a good practice to stop at a yellow signal.
OTOH, there are a few occasions on which it could be dangerous (IMO).
For instance, you are cruising at 40-50 MPH, with a car or two closely
following you, when the light in front of you turns yellow. Under such
circumstances, I'd normally step on the gas and go through the inter-
section.
Some people slam on their brakes as soon as that happens, but that could
cause the car behind you to rear-end theirs. The worst action is to
accelerate first, then think twice and suddenly stomp on the brakes.
