I've driven in Austria and I must agree that the flashing green is indeed
a big help. Even though it sounds like something trivial, it helps to
know if the green light you're heading into is "stale" or not. I also
liked the red/yellow before the green. Again, it doesn't sound like much
but it is true--with a proper warning like that, people actually *move*
when the light turns green and more cars get through the intersection.
