Barbara Post
Manager of Information Services
Transportation Research Board
National Academy of Sciences

Barbara has been with the National Academy of Sciences for almost 20 years and has been a librarian at public and academic libraries as well. She manages both the library and four databases on the organization's Web site. The largest database is the Transportation Research Information Service bibliographic database (TRIS), which has almost a half million records. Other databases include the Transportation Research Board Publications Index and a Research in Progress database. Also, the Transportation Information Services provides Web access to the PATH database, the world's largest bibliographic database pertaining to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) through an agreement with the Harmer E. Davis Transportation Library at the Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California at Berkeley and the Transportation Research Board Library. 

She is a former chair, secretary, and treasurer of the transportation division.

Barbara has a M.L.S. from Catholic University and her undergraduate degree from Gordon College is in elementary education.

Paul Brock
Knowledge Integration Leader, Therapeutic Areas
AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP

As the Knowledge Integration Leader for the Therapeutic Areas at AstraZeneca, Paul leads a team of information professionals providing knowledge management support directly to the Therapeutic Areas and their associated Product Teams. In addition to AstraZeneca, Paul has worked in a variety of information-related positions at Hoffmann-La Roche, Dialog, Telebase Systems, and BIOSIS. Paul also has been a guest lecturer at Rutgers University School of Communication, Information, and Library Studies. He holds a B.A. in Biology from Temple University and a M.S. in Information Studies from Drexel University.

Constance Ard
Research Specialist
Greenebaum Doll & McDonald PLLC

Constance Ard is the head librarian for the Louisville, KY office of the Greenebaum Doll & McDonald libraries. She is the library's Training Coordinator for and edits the library newsletter, InfoExpress.

Constance is active in several library organizations including the Special Library Association, Kentucky Library Association, and the Cincinnati Bar Association. Constance is the past Chair of the Cincinnati Bar Association's Legal Research & Information Resources Committee. She also serves as Chair of the Regional Meeting Committee and as a Director-At-Large of the Kentucky-SLA Chapter, is a mentor in the KLA MAP program, and is a past co-editor of KLA-Special Libraries Section newsletter, The Marquee. In 1999, Constance served as Inside Look coordinator and Secretary of KLA-Special Library Section. Constance has spoken at annual KLA programs and writes articles on a regular basis for various law librarian publications. Her most recent article was published in the fall issue of the SLA Legal Division Quarterly. In April, she was selected to attend a Lexis-Nexis conference on Advanced Management in Private Law Libraries. She received her B.A. in history and English from Alice Lloyd College in 1994 and her M.S.L.S. in 1995 from the University of Kentucky.

Barbara J. Fox (BJ)

Mrs. Barbara J. Fox (BJ) came to the Defense Technical Information Center from the Marine Corps University Library where she was Head of Public Services. Previous to that she had worked for the Army's White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, the Army Corps of Engineers in New Orleans, and the University of California in Santa Barbara. She has earned Masters Degrees at Johns Hopkins University in English Literature and the University of Southern California in Library Science. She has served on the OCLC Users Council, representing Federal libraries, has been Chair of the Military Librarians Division of the Special Libraries Association both in 1990 and 1999/2000, and was the liaison between the Armed Forces Library Roundtable and the Federal Library Roundtable in the American Libraries Association until they merged this year. Mrs. Fox compiled the 1998 version of the classic reference book HOW TO GET IT: A GUIDE TO DEFENSE-RELATED INFORMATION RESOURCES and is DTIC's liaison to Department of Defense libraries.

Marie O'Mara

Marie O'Mara, Technical Information Specialist, is currently the Internet Instructor at the Defense Technical Information Center. Marie has had an extensive career as a professional Librarian working in medical and special libraries with the Department of Defense, U S Air Force and Navy Libraries in the United States and Europe. Also, Marie has taught computer classes for the Fairfax County Adult and Community Education Program. 
She holds an MLS from Rutgers University and her Bachelors degree is from St John's University. 

Mary Ellen Bates

Bates Information Services

Mary Ellen Bates is the owner of Bates Information Services, providing business research to business professionals and backup research support to special librarians. She also provides consulting services to the online industry.

She is a frequent international speaker, keynoting conferences in the US, UK, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Mexico and Australia. She writes frequently about the information industry, and is the author of four books, most recently, MINING FOR GOLD ON THE INTERNET (McGraw-Hill), RESEARCHING ONLINE FOR DUMMIES (IDG), and SUPER SEARCHERS DO BUSINESS (Information Today). Her fifth book, on global research, will be out in the Fall.

She received her MLS from the University of California, Berkeley and is an active member of SLA, the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals and the Association of Independent Information Professionals. She has been online since dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Gerri Klumpp

Gerri has been providing information research in support of the client base in US Drug Development at AstraZeneca since 1998 and prior to her present position worked for almost eight years at Aventis Pharmaceuticals (formerly Rhone Poulenc Rorer) as a Senior Information Scientist with expertise in biomedical, regulatory and business research. Her pharmaceutical industry experience began at Merck as a Research Biologist in Toxicology. Gerri holds an M.L.S from Rutgers University and an undergraduate degree in Biology from Holy Family College. In the past Gerri has been an invited speaker and presenter for the Pharmaceutical & Health Technology Division of SLA at national and regional meetings.
