How do I get what I want?
- Everything in NRD has to be checked out before it leaves the
department. To check something out, just grab one of the white slips
sitting on the front desk and fill it out. If you're taking something
from a folder (ie a picture from the photo file), don't take the folder.
Even if you're taking everything out of the folder, leave the folder.
(The folders are the only way we know that we have information on a
certain topic. If the folder is missing, then we think we don't have a
file on that particular subject. Trust us, this is bad.) When you return
something, just stick it in the wire basket next to the check-out slips on
the front desk. Everything must be returned by the end of the day.
Please don't keep anything out overnight. If you've got any questions
about any of this, ask the resident check-out guru Jean.
How do I make a research request?
- Send a ZMail message to Research
- Call extension 4580 and one of the stalwart NRDsters will come to your
rescue
- Drop by NRD. (Heck, even if you don't have a request you should drop
by. We're a party waiting to happen.)
