SrI:
SrImathE Ramanujaya namah:
Dearest srivaishnavas,

My paternal grand mother hails from this great village
called Navalpakkam and my grand father studied Vedas
and Vedantha here in this village...

It is small, simple village which still retains aand
maintains its pristine purity and the glorious
acharyas and vidwans reside therein still. Their
children who themselves are great vidwAns have setlled
in other parts of India and are continuing to enrich
our sampradayam with their vidwath and samprayic
jnAnam.

Sri NR Ananth from Bahrain [also has his roots to this
grand village] has created a wonderful website on
Navalpakkam and his son 9 years old has recited about
16 Desika sthOthras compiled into a CD- which is being
promoted for funds towards brahmOthsavam kaimkaryam
for Navalpakkan Srinivasa PerumAL temple.
The web site URL is:
http://navalpakam.tripod.com/
Intro from the web site:

The Word ?naaval? in tamil means ?victory? and
?paakkam? means" the place where the kings reside". In
this context, the residents of this place sail always
in victory due to the abundant knowledge they possess.
In sanskrit, the place is called as ?Jambupuram? Many
vedic scholars with great gyana, vairagya and
anushtanams have lived in this holy village. They have
been given the title ?Chathurveda Chathakruthu? and
hail from the lineage of Sri Nathamuni. Srinivasa
perumal temple here was constructed by Sri Ayya Kumara
Tatadesikan in 16th century, who was rajaguru for
Thanjore king dynasty . Even today, you can notice at
Kumbakonam Sarangapani temple, a separate sannadhi for
Sri Ayya Kumara Thathadesikan(opposite to thayar
sannadhi). This was built by the king,to pay tribute to
his knowledge.

The temple at NPKM is more than 350 years old.In
earlier days the sevarthies visiting the temple was
very less due to lack of travel and lodging
facilities. This problem is presently minimised due to
increased transportation / communication facilities
available there. Also, we have made adequate basic
facilities for the sevaartthis visiting Navalpakkam.
The temple is surrounded by agraharam, gaganda
mandapam and a purshkarini (tank) nearby. The calm
atmosphere prevailing there is definitely a place for
bhagavathas to relax in from the fast and mechanical
life. Recently, we have built "Kannadi Arai" in the
temple. As the temple is very old and the sevarthies
are very less, there is no sufficient revenue to the
temple and to the bhattar. It is appealed to all
bhagavathas to participate in whatever kainkaryams
that may be possible for them.

Besides, there is Sri Lakshmi Hayagreevar utsavar
idol. It is strongly belied that by worshiping to Lord
Hayagreevar of the temple, He will shower His
blessings for the children's education and knowledge.
We have made an humble attempt to give you details
about this village and we shall be glad if you can
personally visit the village and seek the blessings of
the Lord.

******
I request Bhagawathas to view the website, listen to
Chi Sundaravaradan's divine rendering and contact SRi
NR Ananth as to how you can be a part of this
kaimkaryam email id: ananth@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
