The Vedic Yanja
Prathishtan, Mulamgunnathukavu, Thrissur, Kerala, India and Om Santhidham,
Bangalore, with the support of Sroutha Sasthra Parishad are organizing a great
Vedic Yajna, Apthoar Yama Yagam, the greatest of all Somayagas from 10th to 20th
April 2004, at Mulagunnathukavu, Thrissur.
Apthoaryama is a gigantic Vedic ritual encompassing hundreds of ritual activities and utilization of thousands of Veda mantras from Rig Veda, Yajur Veda, Sama Veda and few sookthas from Atharva Veda. It is stated by experts that all the features - profundity and complexity of Vedic ritualism are enshrined in this Yajna. As a part of this Yajna, it is intended to make a full scientific evaluation without any preconceived notions, prejudices or bias. The central government has agreed to issue No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the scientific institutions concerned. We are also organizing other programmes like an elaborate Vedic exhibition, assembly of scholars and experts, seminars etc. For this purpose, we are having a local committee headed Dr. K.V. Peter, Vice Chancellor, Agricultural University, Mannuthy and State committee, guided by Dr. Unnikrishnan Nair, Vice Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Cochin and a National committee. Since the scientific evaluation is one of the main aims of this Yajna and also a need of the hour, the scientific patronage, advice, necessary help and co-operation of different organisations, universities etc are earnestly solicited. >The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) >The Indian Space Research Organisation, (ISRO) Thriruvananthapuram and Indian Space Research Organisation And Physical Research Laboratories (ISRO & PRL), Ahmedabad, have agreed to conduct the evaluations for the atmosphere and environmental changes. >The evaluations in the medical field as well as the radiation studies are conducting by the Regional Cancer Center, Thiruvananthapuram and Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin. >The Department of Pharmacology, University of Madras, Chennai study the pharmaceutical aspects. The Agricultural University, Thrissur also has agreed to assist in the studies of the changes occurring in the plants. >Dr.Prabhodhkumar Poddar of Arobindo Ashramam, Pondicherry and Dr.Vrinda
of > Cochin University of Science and Technology will also take part in environmental and atmospheric studies and in other parameters as and when required. >Sri Sankaracharya University of Puri is conducting the academic studies.
Sri Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kaladi is also participating in the
academic studies in individual capacity.
