Chapter9-Dhruva gets his wish

The Lord appeared in front of Dhruva but he did not open his eyes as he was immersed in the vision of the Lord inside his heart. Then the Lord disappeared from his vision and Dhruva opened his eyes and seeing the Lord in front he was thrilled and fell at his feet. He was devouring the Lord with his eyes feeling as though he was embracing Him. He wanted to sing the praise of the Lord but no words came because he was overwhelmed by emotion and since he was only a child. The Lord knowing his wish that he wanted to praise the Lord but did not know how to, touched his cheek with His panchajanya. In Srimadbhagavatham Maithreya said, brahmamayena kambunaa, meaning, with the  conch which was Brahman itself, being the embodiment of pranava.

Then Dhruva started praising the Lord. He said:

"I bow down to thee who awakens the power of speech as well as the indhriyas  and the life force of all. Thou art the Lord the first cause, ever pure embodiment of knowledge and the immutable self of all. Those who desire nothing but your lotus feet attain moksha but you shw immense mercy to all who suffer in this world and give them their desired ends."

The Lord told Dhruva that He knew what was in his mind and will give the exalted status to him and said  that after enjoying all the good things in life and worshipping the Lord through yajna he will attain he Lord Himself in the end.

Dhruva , whose mind was transformed with penance,  would have wished only for moksha and not the pleasures of the world  but accepted wat has been said by the Lord and reluctantly returned to his kingdom. He was welcomed by the king who came half way to meet him, proud to have got such a divine son and Dhruva saluted his parents and his mother was over joyed to see him returning with glory. lAll the people were happy and honoured him as he deserved. Maithryeya says here,

Yasya prasannaH bhagavaan guNaiH maithryadhibhih hariH

Thasmai namanthi bhoothaani nimnam aapa iva svayam

All beings salute him with whose gunas the Lord Hari is pleased.

In due course utthanapadha made Dhruva the king and entered forest as a vanaprastha.
