Living as I do in Tamil Nadu and visiting
divyadesams regularly, I can say that there no no place which can meet the
criteria laid down by Sri Krishnan Swami. If there is one, an average Tamilian
would hail it as Bhooloka Vaikuntam.
Still many divyadesam can offer better living
conditions than Chennai, and other major cities of Tamil Nadu. Except
advanced medical care, health facilities are available
widely. So are the transport facilities.
Politics and xenophobia are no worse in the diyadesams than in cities. It is
true that in many divyadesams, the SriVaishnavas who have hereditary rights
in the temple resent rich new comers, fearing loss of their customary rights and
status.
I would like to suggest divyadesams in Tirunelveli
district and Nagapattinam districts who wish to seriously consider the
suggestion made by other correspondents in this issue. For those who would
consider Nangur in Sirkazhi Taluq, Nagapattinam District, I can offer some
help.
