Parakalanayaki?s mother describes the state of her daughter to VarAha Perumal
in Thiruvidavendhai. Parakalanayaki is not able to bear the separation from
Perumal. She is in love with Perumal despite knowing that Thayar resides in the
vakshasthalam of Perumal.
The mother describes the state of her daughter in the following pasuram in
the same pathigam (P.T. 2.7.4)
"oozhiyil peridhAl nAzhigai" ennm oN sudar thuyinRadhaal" ennum ? For
Parakalanayaki, even one nAzhigai looks very lengthy. Night seems to be long
for her. She goes to the extent of asking whether the Sun is really dead.
"Azhiyum pulambum, anRilum urangaa" - The Ocean is making so much of noise at
night. The anRil (krouncha birds) keep shouting all through the night. These
birds are always in pair. When one gets separated, the other kills itself after
a while.
"thendralum theeyiniR kodithAm" - Even the cool breeze is like fire to
Parakalanayaki
"thunai mulai arakkum", en seygEn sollumin - The mother further continues..
the nayaki tells her friend that she will pluck her pair of breasts out of
frustration.
Ezhaiyen ponnuk kenninain dhirunndhaay idavenndhai yendhai piraanE! - The
mother is obviously worried now as to what to do with her daughter, and asks
Thiruvidavendhai Perumal about what He really thinks about her daughter.
The other lady, Parankusanayaki does not even know what she needs to do at
night.
Let us discuss about her state in the next posting..
