Dear Sirs,
Thanks a lot for welcoming me to your
group.
Am a practising astrologer at Chennai and you can
know more about me in my web site(still needsfine
tuning)
Web site: www.ksraarudraiyengar.in
Eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon. While it is
important to know that it also applies to mundane side(about
nations),in this particular note, the focus is going to be on how
the two eclipses
occuring in the same month with a gap of 16
days are going to influence the individuals especially.
As earth moves around Sunand as Moon goes round
the Earth, when Moon gets in betweenSun and Earth and if Moon is on
or near the nodesRahu and Ketu, solar eclipse takes place. This
occurs on Amavasya day(new moon day).At this point of
time,Sun,Moon and Earth concerned will be in a straight
line.
As indicated above when Earth comes in betweenSun
and Moon and if Moon happens to be on or near one of the nodesRahu
or Ketu,th outcome is Lunar Eclipse. This happens on a Poornima
day.The three planets will once again be in a straight
line.
There are going to be two eclipses in
August'08.
1) Total Solar Eclipse on 1st Aug'08
2) Partial Lunar eclipse on
16th/17thAug'08
The planetary constellations at the time of
maximum eclipse are as given below:
Moon,Sun,Ketu and Mercury are in Karkataka
Rasi
Venus,Saturn and Mars are in Simha Rasi
Guru(R) inDhanus and Rahu in Makaram.
You will observe that because Moon cpmes
closer to Ketu, the Solar eclipse occurs. This commences atSouth and
ends in West.
Where all this solar eclipse will be
visible?
In India,it will be visible as a partial
eclipse.
No Eclipse in North America . Please Google
search Solar +Eclipse for your locations
)
DETAILS OF TIMINGS OF SOLAR ECLIPSE ON
1stAugust08
in India :
Eclipse begins
at 13hrs 34 minutes
Totality begins
at 14hrs 53 minutes
Eclipse
maximum at 15hrs 17
minutes
Totality
over
at 16hrs 51 minutes
End of eclipse
at 18hrs 08 minutes
In all
duration
4hrs 34 minutes
The eclipse occurs
in the constellation of the star Pushyam.Hence
persons born in
Punarvasu( star ahead of Pushyam) and Aslesha(star after Pushyam)
besides Anuradha and Uthrabhadra(stars
akin to Pushyam
whose star lord is Shaneeshwara) should do "Shanthi pariharam"
which is given separately as you read on .
Solar eclipse
happening in Karkataka Rashi may have an advrse effect especially
for persons and countries whose rising
sign(lagna)
is Karkataka and if
Karkataka happens to be1st,4th,7th,8th,10th or 12th from Janma
LagnaHowever, beneficial aspects from natural benefits to the
above mentioned houses should help mitigate the negatives to a
large extent (either in the natal chart or in
transit)
Am deliberately not
discussing the impact of this eclipse
in the
context of mundane astrology(i.e.,for
nations)
How does it affect
the individuals?
The impact (that
varies from individual to individual) is normally felt after 4
months and the same will be equivalent to the number of hours and
minutes of the duration of the eclipse. In this Solar eclipse
since the duration of the eclipse under discussion is 4 hrs and 34
minutes, the impact would be for 4yrs,6 months and24 days starting
after 4 months from the eclipse.
Shanthi
Pariharam:
1)Chant the manthra
intended to ward off the negatives likely to emanate because of
solar eclipse 7 times minimum.(Manthra is given at the
end)
2)Take a copy of
the manthra in a white sheet and keep it on the head and
have head bath after the eclipse is over.
3)Do annadhan and
vasthradhan to Vedic scholars with dakshina(cash) in coin form and
not in rupee notes after the eclipse or thenext
morning.
4)Offer 'Agathi
Keerai' with jaggery to cows after the
eclipse.

Regarding Lunar
Eclipse,I shall reach you in a couple of
days.
Should you require
any assistance, please feel free to get in touch with
me.
This is also to
advise you to sit, focus and do the japams of manthras initiated to
you during the eclipse time as you will be benefited
manifolds.
It is
also advised to put a small piece of "darbha"(kusha
grass)
in all the eatables
before the commencement of the eclipse.
Pregnant women are
advised to remain indoors closing all the doors
so that the growing
foetus is not afflicted by cosmic rays durng eclipse lest the
child born does not have any deformity.
Those eligible to
do "Pithru tharpana" have to perform the same
as the eclipse is
about to end after having head bath to get the blessings of the
forefathers that will help to get rid of any adverse backlash
consequent to the 'solar eclipse'
