SrI:
Dear All:
Here is an input from a knowledgable member on the ongoing discussions on the
archana
sankalpam . He prefers to be anonymous regarding his input . He has stated it
very well .
V.Sadagopan
Sriman Satagopan Swamin,
Whilst perfectly agreeing with your views on the topic, I would like to add a
few words.
If one keenly observes the Bhattar/Archakar, one may notice the difference in
the Sankalpam he makes before starting the Archanai.
If one wishes to have the Archanai done in the name of a specific person, the
Bhattar recites the name of the person, birth star and gothram and follows it
up with the words more or less on the lines like "Asya Yajamanasya Dhairya
Sthairya Veerya Vijaya Aayur Arogya Iswaryayabhi Vrdhyardham, Ishta
Kaamyaartha Sidhyartham.......Swamy Divya Charnaarvindhayoho Thulasi dala or
Kumkumarchanam karishye."
On the other hand, if one asks Archanai to be performed in the name of Perumal,
the sankalpam will be just "Bhagavath Mukhollasaartham, Bhavath
Preethyartham".
Vaikuntavaasi Sriman U.Ve Seva Swamy used to say, and practice it too in his
Mani Mandapam at Villivakkam, that Archanai only during Bhagavath Aradhanam and
not otherwise. He used to advise us that if you wish to do Archanai in temple
just do it in the name of Perumal.
Just thought of writing whatever little I know or heard of.
