Sri: Adiyen is extremely happy that at SriPerumputhur the toilet facilities are well utilised by the pilgrims. But we have a very bitter experience. To redress the grievances of visiting pilgrims, the local panchayath itself built toilets very near to the Temple here (Just a few yards before the Temple Gopuram) and the president is very particular in maintaining it very clean He even spends from his pocket. An employee is there from 5AM to 7PM and collects Rs.1/ from the pilgrims. But the visiting pilgrims prefer to spoil the surroundings of the temple only. The temple staff and local public have always a tough time to drive them to the toilets which many of the tourists, most of them village folks, never head to.And so, the experience at Sripermputhur is really heartening to note. dasan, T.Raguveeradayal

Subject: Sriperumbuttur Toilet Facilty
Dear Prabhu,
Dandvats Pranams!
Srimathe Ramanujaya Namah!
Prabhuji, thank you for your response and suggestions
on the educational programme. Following is a small
report on the toilet facilities at Sriperumbudur.
Sanitary Facility: Toilets at Sriperumbudur are being
regularly taken care of and maintained. I pay
Rs.1000/- every month to the caretaker. The caretaker
collects Re.1/- from all pilgrims using the
facilities. This money is used to buy cleaning
liquids and other requirements for maintenance.
The pilgrims were quite less this year at the festival
when compared to the previous years. The toilet
facility was of great help to pilgrims hailing from
the lower strata in society and for those who stayed
for all 10 days at the festival. Some local people
were against the idea, but now the same people have
approached our team and have expressed their
appreciation.
To be honest, this seems to be the best service to all
Vaishnavas visiting Sriperumbudur for the festival and
