Sri:

SrimatE Gopaladesika MahadesikAya Namaha,

Translation by U.Ve. Dr. V.N. Vedanta Desikan Swamin:

Oh Paaduka! When the Lord rises from His couch, puts His feet into
You and comes out placing two or three steps, a blue lustre pervades
the whole atmosphere. It looks as though the locks of hair of the
asura women-folk have become dishevelled in grief, to result in a
dark blue shade.

Namo Narayana,

SriMuralidhara Dasan

Special Notes by V.Sadagopan (V.S):

SlOkam 705

1)UtthamUr swamy's anubhavam: Oh RanganAthA's dear freind!
Oh PaadhukE! When he ascends on You and takes three or four
steps to come out of His sanctum sanctorium , the entire temple
is filled with the blue effulgence of Your sapphires. The temple
attains the bluish black hue of Your Lord . The whole of
SrIrangam becomes a Mukthi KshEthram due to the destruction of
the asurAs , whose demise is indicated by the wives of the asurAs
running hither and thither with their loose , black tresses
resembling the blue rays of Your sapphire. Swamy Desikan points
out that all those , who discard their enimity to the Lord
and worship Him , attain Moksham at SrIrangam. When the enemies
are destroyed , peace prevails at SrIrangam making it easier for
the righteous to attain their spiritual goals.

2) SrImath Andavan's anubhavam:Oh PaadhukE! Soon after Your Lord
takes three or four steps adorning You outside His aasthAnam ,
for His vijaya yAthrAs , darkness spreads all around . This
is a direct result of the widows of slain asurAs , who fall
on ground with their dishevelled , dark assembly of hairs
out of sorrow over the death of their husbands. Here , Swamy
Desikan equates the dark lustre of the rays from Indhra neela
gems to the shiny tresses of the asura sthrees.

3)Oh PaadhukE! You are Lord RanganATA's dear fellow
traveller ( RanganAtE paadhanyAsa priyasahacharIm
ThvAM) as he steps out of Ranga VimAnam (ThvAm aaruhya
vaasa gEhaath nirgathE) . As He takes three or four steps
adorning You , a strange event happens ( ThvAm aaruhya
vaasa gEhAth thri-chathura padham nirgathE).Suddenly ,
the inside and the surroundings of RangavimAnam get dark
(Bhavanam antha: bahisccha SyAmacchAyam bhavathi)due to
the spreading of the dark bluish black lustre of
the rays from Your sapphires ( tE Sakraneela amsubhi:
antha: syAmacchAyam bhavathi). That lustre of Your
Indhra neelams appear like friend to the sticky and
dishevelled hair assemblies of the distraught wives
of the just-widowed asura women (snighdhai: asura
mahiLA vENi vikshEpa mithrai: tE sakraneela amsubhi:
antha: syAmacchAyam bhavathi)...(V.S)
