Dear friends in Kuwait and elsewhere,

Those of you who have read and believe they have benefited from
reading adiyane's 17-part series, "Art of Living - Life of Vedanta
Desika" in the past 2 weeks may please pay their tribute to the
memory of the "vEdAntAchArya" in the following meaningful way:

There is a temple in a place called Thoopul near Kanchipuram
(India). This is the birthplace of Swami VedantachArya who was born
there in 1268 CE.

Although it is a famous temple, it has fallen upon difficult times
financially. The temple priests are finding it hard to make both ends
meet and do not have resources to conduct even the basic and
mandatory daily ritual called "nitya-ArAdana". This is a most
pathetic state of affairs.

A Trust has been formed there by a committee of Desikan admirers
under the leadership of one Sri.Sadagopa Tatachari. He wrote to me
last month requesting me to raise some funds for the
"nitya-arAdana-trust" in the Gulf and Middle-east although Kuwait
members have already contributed for the same early in '02. The Trust
is in need of further resources and is desperately appealing
worldwide to be able to reach the target corpus of INR 2 million.

To this end, adiyane tried to raise some funds. I have no other
talent or gift using which I can raise funds. Lack of time (I am a
regular office-goer) also constrains me from going out door-to-door
appealing for contributions. Hence, the only way I thought I could
raise attention to the state of affairs at Thuppul is to write a
series on the "Life of Desikan" which is in itself a glorious lesson
on what is truly the Vedantic way of living.

If the "Art of Living" series touched your heart and life in any way,
pls. express it through a contribution to a worthy cause and
institution. Pease contact me for further details.

Thank you and regards,
dAsan,

Sudarshan
