Dear Members,
I am totally uncomfortable with the comparision as stated in points 6,7 & 8.
It seems to me that, Sita was ignorant of the characters of Rama and only
Hanuman explain Rama's greatnes to Her. In my opinion, never. The mahaviswAsam
that Sita had on Rama was unparallelled and what Hanuman did was only to let
her know that Rama is coming shortly to relieve Her. Please remember, Hanuman
said this not because Sita had lost faith in Rama, but just as an information.
On the other hand the comparision of the AchAryA and the chEtanA is completely
different. The chEtanA, as such though a gnAni, is now a total illiterate due
to prakruti sambandham and hence the AchAryA teaches the chEtanA about Sriman
nArAyaNan and makes the chEtanA realize his true form, which is full of
knowledge and hence realize how Sriman nArAyaNan will take him on His own
without him (chEtanA) having to do anything.
There is a subtle difference between this comparision of Hanuman explaining
Sita and AchAryA teaching chEtanA.
I request you to kindly clarify the above.

Dear Bagavadotthamaas,
We all had the wonderful opportunity of hearing Sri. U.Ve. Devarajan swami's
upanyasam on "mudaliandanin 10 vaarthaigal" on Sunday[3/3/02].
Adiyel feel doubly happy and proud of being Mudaliandan sishyai and posting
this at the appropriate time.i.e on Thiru Maasi kettai of annavilappan
swamigal..(9th descendant of Mudaliyandan Swamy)
As all of us know, Mudaliandan swamigal is considered as the punar Avatharam
of Lord Rama and hence the name 'daasarathi'. Andan enjoys a high status in
EmberumAnar's thiruvullam of being a great disciple of swami.
His importance is very much shown in different places in Emberumanar's life
history. Further Andan enjoys the status of being like Padukai and Thridandam
to Swami, and infact Swamy entrusted Andan with the Administration of the
entire "Koyil" .
Without going much into details, I would like to give a consice summary of
Andanin 10 words mainly comparing Chethanan living in mundane life (us) with
the Sitapiraati in Lanka , as told by Sri.Devaraj swamigal with brief
explanation of each points.
1)Taking the Piraati side ,she was abducted and imprisoned Ravana's
place.Where as the Chethanan is imprisoned in this samsaric world.
2. Piraati realizes the cause of sufferings (seperation from Rama) was
absolutely due to the incisive and caustic allusions she made towards an
impeccable soul-Lakshmana. Similarly to a chetanan, the path
that connects him to the paramathma is immediately blocked the moment he
commits a baagavadha apacharam and thus can never reach 'Him'. Where in
bagavan
says
'padma koti sade naapi, na kshmaami vasundare'.
3. Just as Piraati spending 10 months in Asoka Vanam , Chetanan spends 10
months in Karba Vasam.
4.Piraati was constantly surrounded and illtreated by the demons(Arakys). The
Chetanan is also tied with his family bondage.
As kambar says, "van marungul vaal arakkiyar nerukka angirrunthaal.Vaanathava
baasargal meaning aabaasa bandhukkal".
5.Like Maaricha created an illusion to Piraati in the form of a wonderful
sharp horned golden deer similarly the chetanan is attracted to the fallacious
benefits the materialistic world, there by tempted to engage more and more in
the wordly matters.
6.For Piraati, Sirya Thiruvadi explains Rama Vrithantham and for Chethanan
Acharyan
7. In the Asoka Vana Sriya Thiruvadi explains Sita, the visesha kalyana gunas
of Rama.In the same way, Acharyan preaches the chetanan about the bagavan
kalyana gunas.
8.Siriya tiruvadi handed over the kanaiazhi to piratti and identified himself
by hinting a conversation that took place between Piraati and Rama in
private. In the same way the Acharyan gives the visesha tirumantraartha
upadesam
thro' guru parampara.
9.Piratti in return gave her choodamani explainng Rama of her plight in the
Asoka Vana. But the role of an acharyan acting as a mediator between bagavan
and
jeevathma can never be valued or measured in terms of what the chetnan can
offer to acharyan more than lying at the feet of Acharyan saying "talai allaal
kai maru illene".
10.The only factor that gave comfort to piratti was her friend ship with the
matron trsadai[daughter of vibishana].To the chetanan the quick way of
liberation attaining inthis world is to be always accompanied by
baaghavathaas.
11.Finally Lord Rama Himself came to Lanka and rescued Piraati and for
Chethana He comes and liberates the soul from unending sufferings,
Pl note that Sita did not take any effort to reach Rama though she could have
done it all by herself , similarly Chetana is not fit to put any effort to
reach him, only His Dayay the mean for Chetana.
Though Sri.Devaraja Swamigal explained all points within a shor time in a gem
studded words and quotes such that even Adiyel can understand, hence let me
request all Bhagavadas who enjoyed the Upanyasam to correct me if any
mistakes.
Adiyel
