pArthiva year vaikasi moola star in a family of experts in vanamamalai
("terulkol nAnmaRai vallavar palar vAzh sirivaramangalanagar") as the
son of Sri Srinivasa Iyengar swamy, a scholar in ubhaya Vedanta and an
expert nyaya sastra vidwan. Swamy underwent all the necessary
vaidhika samskaras (rituals) in appropriate times under the guidance
of his respected father. Swamy's schooling went on well with the
interest in vaidhika education growing day by day. But unfortunately
swamy's father attained paramapadam when swamy was very young. Swamy
hence continued to learn kAvyAlankara, sAhitya granthas, nyaya and
other regular sastras from his uncle, renowned AstAna vidwan of the
vanamamalai mutt, Sri azhagappangAr swamy.

jeeyer swamy, the then peedAdhipathi (23rd jeeyer) of the mutt and was
specially graced by the acharyan. For some time swamy continued his
education at the Sriperumbudur padashala. Furthur, swamy learnt some
finer parts of nyaya sastra under the renowned maha vidwan kunnapakkam
SrinivasAchariya swamy at kancheepuram.

peedam. Swamy was then blessed to learn Sribhasyam, Bhagavat vishayam
and other granthas from Sri Chinna kaliyan swamy. Guided by his uncle
swamy further remained with great expertise in ubhaya Vedanta. Swamy
took part in number of pandit sabhas and remained with divine glory.
Swamy's talent was tested by pudukottai, thiruvanandhapuram, mysore,
vanaparuththi, ketwal and many other raja samsthAnAs (kingdoms) and
was rewarded appropriately. Swamy was also blessed with good musical
knowledge as a family wealth. Both swamy's father and his uncle
(siriya tagappanAr) have sung many krithis on vanamamalai perumal,
siri varamangai nachiyar, nammazhvar, Sribhashyakarar. Hundreds of
those krithis have been by-hearted by number of musicians and are sung
in many conserts even today. Therefore many musicians generally fear
to sing in front of swamy due to his expertise. Swamy remained as
AstAna vidwan of the mutt heading many vAdha ghostis (discussions)
from the time of Sri kaliyan swamy till adorning the peedam himself.

specimens and a wonderful golden kalasam. Similarly, swamy renovated
the vimanams of the ubhaya nachiyar, beautified them and on vijaya
varusham vaikasi month did the pradhistA mahotsavam of those vimanams
and made everyone rejoice the occasion.

sapram) and an artistic thOlukkiniyAn for Sri varamangai nAchiyar and
deivanayaka perumal to provide divine darshan to all the blessed
devotees including Sri swamy.
> 3.. Swamy renovated many parts of Southern thiruvenkatamudaiyan
sannadhi including vimanam, thirumadhil etc that remained depilated
for quite sometime spending a huge amount of money and did the
mahasamprokshanam in a grand manner.

sannadhi. In those places where there was not sufficient ventilation
and airflow swamy arranged for windows and remodeling of existing
structures. Swamy made perfect modifications in many places and made
the place more airy and safe. In the periya prAkAram (outer yard)
swamy arranged for a beautiful garden that provided beautiful,
fragrant flowers and thiruththuzhai for perumal daily aradhanas (pooja).
> 5.. Swamy did svarna (golden) kavachams for deivanayakan and
nachiyars and made the sruthi pramAnam "ApraNakat sarva Eva suvarna:"
come true.

precious diamond studded thiruvabhishEkam (crown) "kadirA miravi
kalandhu eriththA loththa neeN mudi" To add on to the divine beauty a
beautiful diamond studded ear drops was made "minnu mAmaNI
makarakuNdalangal vilveesa". Then the divine abhaya hastam of
emperuman was made to glow with studded diamonds ("tasya bhAsA
sarvamidham vibhAdhi") Thus swamy made everyone visualize the
emperuman as celebrated by the Upanishads and the dravida vedam. The
divine jewels still talk the fame of Sri Swamy.
> 7.. Swamy further beautified the thirumanjana vEdhikai with gold
for deivanayakan to undergo thirumanjanam (divine bath) during special
occasions along with the ubhaya nachiyars on either sides
(thirumadandhai maNmadandhai erupAlum thigazha), accompanied by
Sirivaramangai nachiyar to the right and kodha nachiyar to the left to
the ecstacy of all who witness this divine serthi with their blessed eyes.

the divine occasion.

slokas (welcoming note in poetic style) and gave a detailed lecture
about the meanings of the slokas explaining the greatness of swamy and
the mutt. Number of honoree certificates was read in the occasion.
Swamy then returned back to the mutt. Swamy decided to undergo his
chaturmasa vratha at thiruvallikeni. Meanwhile, the theertham of
Periya swamy (Sri madurakavi swamy) appeared and that was grandly
celebrated for 10 days. Due to swamy's continuous journey the usual

completed the prabhandam with a grand sattrumarai. Throughout the 3

its peak. Selvapillai gave an enthralling darshan adorning the
diamond-studded crown. Swamy invited selvapillai to the mutt and did
great honours to the divine lord on this very special day followed by
taligai upacharams. Emperuman accepted them with pleasure and
