I would be grateful if anyone can explain the
meaning of following terms
=======================================================

Let adiyen try to explain to the best of adiyen's understanding.
1) Thiruvandhikkappu

This is the last ritual or pooja done to divya desa emperumANs. 'andhi' is that
which is at the last or it can also refer to the evening or night time. 'kAppu'
is protection. PeriAzhvar says, "chandiran mAligai sErum sadhurargal vellarai
nindrAi andhiyam pOdhu edhuvAgum azhaganE! kAppida vArAi" (periazhvar
thirumozhi 2-8-1)

2) Satthumurai

This is the procedure to end a ghosti or a ritual. At end of each prabhanda
ghosti or upanyasam satthumurai is done (completion process with reciting the
conclusionary part)

3) Asthanam

Asthanam is the original place of emperuman or the sannadhi.

4) Mantakappadi

While emperuman goes out in purappAdu he halts at different places (mandapams)
and padi (prasadam) is offered to perumal there and people have darshan of
emperuman. This is called as mandakappadi.

5) Arulappadu

This is the call given to different kainkaryaparas to do service at respective
times.

6) Eccharigai

This is a Alert message to show that emperuman's /acharya's purappadu is going
to start (to make the sripAdhathAngees alert) or someother ritual or pooja is
going to start or to say that the ghosti has ended etc.

7) Padiyettham

This is the last part of purappadu of namperumal. He climbs over the steps and
returns back to the sannadhi in sarpa gathi (like a snake tired after the
purappadu)

8) Sadhu Srivaishnavar

kainkaryaparas in the temple.

9) Eera Adai Theerttham

Theertham which is dripping from the wet cloth of perumal after thirumanjanam.

Please clarify the following
----------------------------
1) Dhavanothsavam (What it is & Why it is performed)

Usually divya desa perumals have different banglows. Like rich people going to
their holiday banglows for rest, perumal also visits the dhavanothsava banglow
once a year. (this is my experience in thiruvallikeni do not know much about
other divya desams). Davanam is a type of leaf like tulasi which has a sweet
smell. While perumal visits this banglow the mandapam is nicely decorated with
full of davanam which makes the place cool and sweet smelling. This cools the
thirumEni of perumal during the chennai summer heat.

2) Vasanthothsavam (What it is & Why it is performed)

There is one another banglow called the vasantha utsava banglow which earlier
had a mandapam with a beautiful garden around (in thiruvallikeni now only the
mandapam with barren land around with very few trees remain). Perumal during
this vasanthOtsavam goes to the banglow and enjoys with his consorts. There is
a oonjal here for entertaining perumal and the devis.
