dear srI vimalkumAr and others, I did not mean to suggest that srI sampath kumAr arbitrarily go to srI chinna jeeyar svAmi (or "change AchAryAs"). Given his statement that he may not be able to go to India in the near future, I suggested that there *may* be an alternative way. If someone approaches a different AchAryAn, the first thing that the approached AchAryan would do is to enquire about the approaching person's AchArya parampara. He will further question why this person is approaching him rather than the family AchArya parampara. Only if the situation is such that there is no other way for this person to get formally inducted into the rAmAnuja sampradAyam will the approached AchArya perform samAsrayaNam. (I know for a fact, that srI chinna jIyar svAmi does the most thorough investigation possible, and only if He is satisfied that there is no other way, He will perform the samAsrayaNam). adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan, varadhan --- In ramanuja@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, vimalkumar ranganathan <panardasan@xxxx> wrote: > Dear Sri Varadhan Swami, > Your advice to Sri Sampath Kumar was nice indeed. But I heard from Sri Vanamamalai Jeeyar himself (when I had visited Nanguneri a couple of months ago) that it is a sin to get Samashrayanam done from another Acharya, when one very well knows who his Acharyan is. If due to some reason he has no knowledge of his Acharyan, then he can go seek another Acharyan. > > Dasan, > Kidambi Soundararajan. > > > tavaradhan <tavaradhan@xxxx> wrote: > srImathE rAmAnujAya namah > > dear srI sampath kumAr, > > welcome to the community of rAmAnuja devotees. > > > > Narayana.
