dear devotees, Of late, we are having several nice discussions on various topics. This is very nice to see, and is one of the primary purposes of this e-community on Ramanuja sampradAya. However, there is also a lot of mixing of fact and opinion. This causes many misleading posts, and leads to the potential of misrepresenting our beloved Ramanuja sampradAya. With that in mine, I request that the following rules be adhered to while posting - (i) Clearly state whether what you are posting is something that our AzhvArAchAryAs taught, or is your opinion. It is fine to have a post with both, but clearly label it - "The following is my opinon".. "The following is taken from grantha a/b/c/".. "The following is based on svAmi x/y/z's upanyAsam on topic a/b/c" etc. (ii) If you are unsure of whehter what you are writing is teaching of our teachers, or your opinon, the DEFAULT IS that what you are saying is your opinion - i.e. "I think I heard" ==> your opinion!. "I remember this from somewhere" ==> your opinon, unless you can clearly say where you remembered this from. (iii) Questions are good, and are an integral part of the learning process. However, please refrain from rhetorical questions - "What is wrong with this/that" etc. (iv) Kindly refrain from posting a post that contains only one line, and has the whole digest quoted!. Please remove the unnecessary portions if you are doing a reply. (v) Do not reply to digests without changing the title. I will be monitoring the posts more closely - especially for adherence to the first 2 points raised above. Please note that the above is not to stifle discussion. Discussion is how we learn; but discussion cannot just be random. adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan, varadhan ------------------------ Yahoo!
