Sri Parthasarathi thunai

Srimathe ramanujaya Namaha

Srimad Vara Vara munayE Namaha

Sri vAnAchala mahA munayE Namaha

Paasuram-85

"thozil enakku tollaimAl thannAmamEththa

  Pozhudenakku maRRadhuvE pOdhum-kazhisinaththa

  vallALan vanavarkOn vAli madhanazhiththa

  villAlan nenjath thulan"

"nAlum thozhumkAdal pooNdEn thozhil" ended thirumazhisaipiran in the previous paasuram.   Immediately a lowkikan enquired, "Is it not enough if we spend some time for bhagavat vishayam and then engage ourselves with other activities?" Azhvar answers, "When the time available is not even enough for enjoying Sri Rama's   heroic acts where in world do I have time for other activities?"

(thozil enakku tollaimAl thannAmamEththa) My only job is to extol the primordial lord.

Don't we all engage in other activities and also do thirunamasankeerthanam? Why don't you do the same?

(pozhudenakku maRRadhuvE pOdhum) All my time is spent in bhagavat vishayam.   Infact, most of my time is spent recapitulating the enthralling glories of chakravarthi thirumagan.

(kazhisinaththa vallALan) one who is outraged and powerful.   He (vali) was so filled with anger that he didn't even have sympathy on his dear brother who begged pardon under his feet.

(vallAlan) His efficacy is evident from the episode of Vali arresting ravana like catching an insect.

(vAnarakOn) King of monkeys.  He has kept all the monkeys under his control due to his anger and valor.  In contrast, to chakravarthi thirumagan ruling over ayodhya by love "echchAmOhi mahAbhAhum".

(vallALan madhanazhiththa) Ramapiran broke vali's ego

Inspite of sugreeva begging pardon realizing his mistake, vali showed his aggressiveness, while he accepted friendship from ravana where he should have shown his actual strength.   So emperuman considered it to be fit to break vali's ego.

(vanarakkOn madhanazhiththa) since he was an animal it was quite appropriate to kill him from the back as a matter of defence.

(madhanazhiththa vallALan nenjaththuLan) That supreme lord with the bow and arrow in hand, one who broke vali's ego is always in my mind.   Where in the world can I concentrate on other worldly affairs.
