Dear Bhagavathas,

I have followed this discussion and it boggles my mind.
It is amazing how we have taken a religion that taught us:
vasudhaiva kutumbhakam(world is one family)
kushalanna pramaditavyam (should never neglect our welfare)
bhUtyaina pramaditavyam (don't neglect material gains)
Purusha evedagam sarvam (This universe is part of parabrahman) etc.
and narrowed it down to a small corner of the world, which too is ever
shrinking. How many Hindus (let alone Brahmanas) are left
in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, Bangladesh, South east Asia?
This needs some serious introspection.
Let us get out of our self imposed limitations.
The only limitations to blossom our inherent attitudes and aptitiudes are as
governed in the Purusha sUktam:
saptaasyaasan paridhayaH (7 outer limits: 5 elements + day +night) and
trissapta samidha kRetAH (21 inner limits: 5 sense organs, 5 organs of work,
5 vital breaths, 4 feelings of mind, dharmam and adharmam).

Look at our Muslim and Christian friends, how they have taken a tribal
religion
and globalized it; while we are feeling guilty for having found a means of
decent
livelihood.

This is not meant to hurt anyone, but to stop us from feeling guilty and
liberate
ourselves from a narrow agraharam mentality.
