Siva is referred to as 'nakka pirAn' by nammAzhvAr. The term refers
to 'one who is without cloths'. The reasons assigned are: "He has no
interest in anything", or "He forgets even his body". If anyone
knows of the purANic basis for these statements, I would appreciate
knowing about it. I am not able to figure out why he got the
name 'nakka pirAn'. I am only looking for purANic incidences that
support the epithet.
