I shall be grateful if you can kindly elucidate as to why Sri Vedanta Desika is called Nigamanta Mahadesika? What is the full purport of the title Nigamanta?

Sri Vedantha Desika- Vedantha Acharya is also called Nigamaantha Desika
Nigamam- means Vedam- So, it is same as Vedantha [in my humble opinion].
Swamy Desikan had written an elbaorate commentary for Thiruvaaymozhi [which is not lost] is also named by Swami as "nigama parimaLam" -i.e. Thiruvaymozhi verses having the divine fragrance of Vedas...
