What are some examples of CGI and databses?

  • CGI languages include: Perl, PHP, Java, VisualBasic, and ASP. These languages vary in speed, ease-of-use, and compatibility with various Web server platforms. Perl is the most functional, but PHP scripts are easier to develop and faster to execute.
  • Databae programs include: Oracle, Microsoft Access and MySQL. These databases vary in functionality, speed, reliability, and expense. Oracle has the best reliability and is more advanced, while MySQL has the most conveinence and speed.
  • CGI applications include: Ameritrade, Yahoo!, Cubs.Com, Student Central, and Amazon.Com
