Veggie Revolution

Sally Kneidel and her daughter, Sara Kate, had no idea what they were getting into when they began writing a book about vegetarianism. The project turned into an exploration of the global food system, and before the research was finished, Sally and Sara Kate had visited eight farms in North Carolina, including four factory farms. They were shocked by what they saw, but they also developed more sympathy for farmers than they expected. Host Frank Stasio talks with Sally Kneidel and Sara Kate Kneidel about their book, “Veggie Revolution: Smart Choices for a Healthy Body and a Healthy Planet” (Fulcrum Publishing/2005).
