Race and Rape

Wednesday, March 29th, 2006

Duke University President Richard Brodhead held a press conference last night to address the allegations that an African-American woman was gang-raped by white members of the men’s lacrosse team. Host Frank Stasio explores the many and varied opinions of the case within Duke and Durham’s black community with: Mark Anthony Neal, an associate professor of African-American studies at Duke; Treva Lindsey, a graduate student at Duke; Charlotte Pierce-Baker, a research professor in the women’s studies program at Duke; and John McCann, a columnist with Durham Herald-Sun.
