Immigration and Citizenship

Host Frank Stasio talks with Noah Pickus, associate director of the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University and author of the book, “True Faith and Allegiance: Immigration and American Civic Nationalism” (Princeton University Press/2005). In North Carolina and across the country, debates about immigration policy are starkly divisive. Pickus argues that the two sides of the debate miss the point. The United States, he says, needs a policy that invests more in immigrants and expects more from all citizens, old and new. Listener Call-In. (59:00)
