OLF Update

OLF Update: The Navy had to abandon plans for combat jet test flights yesterday at a landing field in Hyde County. The pilot aborted the simulations because of a large number of migratory birds in the flight path. The Hyde County test site is similar to the sites for proposed naval training fields for practice air craft landings in Washington and Beaufort Counties – plans that are entangled in a lawsuit seeking to protect the wildlife in those areas. Host Melinda Penkava talks with Derb Carter, an attorney for the Southern Environmental Law Center about the case and what the abandoned test flights means. (12:00)
