James Moeser

In his five-plus years as chancellor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, James Moeser has instituted groundbreaking programs such as the Carolina Covenant, a need-based financial aid program for the state’s poorest students. He has also guided UNC-Chapel Hill through controversies that gained national attention, such as the 2002 summer reading selection of a book about the Quran.
