The Trials of Darryl Hunt

For twenty years Darryl Hunt battled the justice system for his freedom. Convicted of raping and murdering a white woman in Winston-Salem, it seemed that he had exhausted his legal options until a DNA match for the crime surfaced in 2003. A documentary of about his ordeal premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this week. Host Frank Stasio talks with the filmmakers about how audiences are reacting to the documentary. Also on the program, Darryl Hunt talks about life in Winston-Salem after his exoneration. Guests include Ricki Stern and Annie Sundberg, the filmmakers behind The Trials of Darryl Hunt; Darryl Hunt; Mark Rabil, a defense attorney for Darryl Hunt; Larry Little, Winston Salem State University professor and community activist; and Phoebe Zerwick, reporter for the Winston Salem Journal.
