Continuing Reaction

Tensions are growing in the wake of an alleged rape of an African-American woman by members of the Duke University lacrosse team last month. The anger has boiled over into at least one violent encounter: last Friday, a Duke student says he was assaulted at a restaurant drive-thru. How are the Duke and Durham communities responding to the potential for increased violence? Host Frank Stasio speaks with Michael Palmer, director of community relations at Duke, and Bill Bell, mayor of Durham. Also, we take a closer look at how national and local media are covering the incident with Bob Ashley, editor of the Durham Herald-Sun, and Ken Rogerson, research director at the DeWitt Wallace Center for Media and Democracy.
