1st Lt Wade Hampton Saunders's Co. C. appear to have been in Task Force Sparks.

Elements of "I" and "L" Companies of the 3rd Battalion, 157th Infantry Regiment of Task Force Sparks Task Force Sparks appear to have been the first units of Task Force Sparks to have crossed the Amper River to get to the concentration camp.

The Nazis had blown the bridges over the Amper River which delayed the tanks of the 191st.

Exactly what Company C did during liberation has not been determined, but they are presumed to have been either inside the camp, or readily available nearby for additional support.
