A website that explores experimental work in music-making, Ethnolyrical brings out the unique and some contemporary in music around the world.
Created by Ali Neff–a writer, documentarian, musician, and doctoral candidate at UNC-Chapel Hill (Communication Studies, concentration in Cultural Studies)–the website is full of features and entries that document the culture of music in places such as California, Dakar, Mississippi, Senegal, and Spain (and more!).
Neff also highlights interesting people, events, styles, and ideas related to music and even includes a sound/image gallery for her ethnographic work in Mississippi, Senegal, North Carolina and elsewhere. Click here to listen and/or view some of her work.
