Re: Costs of maintaining digitized documents
This article is still available, and I printed it out because the issue is always coming up. Such data is crucial to avoiding the unanticipated time (read: money) spent on such projects.
Recently, we were asked about the viability of digitizing a very large collection of oral history interviews, for "preservation" purposes. Has anyone seen studies or data on digitizing audio materials? Any leads are appreciated.

Bob,
That metric appeared in Volume 3, Number 5, October 15, 1999 of RLG
DigiNews. The url at that time was
http://www.rlg.org/preserv/diginews/diginews3-5.html. Don't know if this is
still active or not. I can fax you a hard copy if you can't locate. Dick
