Re: Question about relationship between TEI and other file formats for biblical corpora

I've passed on your question about OSIS to a couple members of the OSIS Technical Committee. I don't know if they're members of B-Greek, but I'll pass on any comments they might have. If not, then I'll do my poor best to answer.

Re: Active topics page kicking out errors

Thanks, Jonathan! Having had to debug such issues many times myself through the years, I appreciate your persistence, especially during the holidays.

Blessings,

Re: Verb inside prep phrase: Acts 1:5

Thanks for all the responses. Very helpful.

Yes, I have run across the term hyperbaton before, but never paid much attention to it, and didn't recognize it here. I've got some reading to do, I see...

Verb inside prep phrase: Acts 1:5

This may be a very basic question, but this looked strange to me in Acts 1:5: ὑμεῖς δὲ ἐν πνεύματι βαπτισθήσεσθε ἁγίῳ The verb splits the noun + adjective phrase inside of a prepositional phrase. The Greek Orthodox NT has what I would have expected: ὑμεῖς δὲ βαπτισθήσεσθε ἐν Πνεύματι Ἁγίῳ So: is th...

Re: Heb 1:3 & the SBLGNT text

Thanks for the quick responses, on Christmas Day, no less.

So NA27 seems to be the best single source of variant readings?

And where would I find a discussion of the cause of such a variant?

TIA!

Merry Christmas!

Heb 1:3 & the SBLGNT text

I was reading Hebrews 1 this morning in the SBLGNT, and ran across this: φέρων τε τὰ πάντα τῷ ῥήματι τῆς δυνάμεως whereas all the other Greek texts are universally: φέρων τε τὰ πάντα τῷ ῥήματι τῆς δυνάμεως αὐτοῦ So the SBLGNT omits the possessive pronoun. Given the way SBLGNT was constructed, is thi...

Re: Exploring Syntax with Lowfat Treebanks and Jupyter Notebooks

Following Jonathan's install instructions, I was able to successfully get his Greek trees Jupyter notebook up and running. Attached is a screenshot for the skeptical. :ugeek: If any of you are needing help with the install, let me know. Or, ask Jonathan. This was done on a Windows 10 box, ...

Re: Exploring Syntax with Lowfat Treebanks and Jupyter Notebooks

Feature (Documentation) request: It would be helpful for those of us wanting to install the system to have a recipe for the install so that we can see the notebook working. I assume that the OS-dependent installation is of BaseX and Anaconda. That part for the three major platforms is straight forwa...

Re: Back up and running - using phpBB 3.2 now

Vocalized and cantillated Hebrew is much more difficult to read at smaller font sizes. I created a special "heb" tag, which uses the SBL font (the most readable, IMO) at a higher font size. However, members tend not to use it, because it's an extra step. :-( Jonathan, you can define any ar...
