I‘m not so sure, whether ξυλον = tree was so common. Preisigke Wörterbuch der griechischen Papyrusurkunden doesn‘t give this meaning. You can install VirtualBox on an Mac-OSX system and then install within the Virtual Machine some other Version of Mac OSX. Much easier seems to be to install Parallels on your Mac and then install an older Version of OSX. With Parallels I have no experience, seems to be the best VM for Apple-Compute...
