Re: Teaching the Genitive

Jeffrey Rydberg-Cox is pretty helpful here too. Genitive In general, I think it's helpful to expose people to lots of examples, organized by categories, without weighing them down with really complex explanations. Re: Teaching the Genitive

Here's what Mounce does. Seems pretty helpful. Genitive 1. The most common use of the genitive is when the word in the genitive gives some description of the head noun (descriptive). ἐνδυσώμεθα [δὲ] τὰ ὅπλα τοῦ φωτός (Rom 13:12). Let us put on the armor of light. 2. The head noun can be possessed by...

Re: Teaching the Genitive

Re: Gender concordance with the article

During the course of one of our side discussions I was asking about the use of the article / variants of πας where there are multiple referents with different genders...

Re: the "world" (κόσμος) in John 12:19

Why don't Lexicons categorize " κόσμος " in the sense of " everybody ," in a way that's more restrictive than " all the world "? BDAG seems to skim over this without breaking out " everybody " under a heading that's separate from " all the world ". ...

Then I have no idea why you declared that the discussion of the meaning of πειρᾶζω has ended. Jeffrey Jeffrey, I think Eeli was not declaring that the discussion the meaning of πειρᾶζω has ended, but was reporting the error message received when trying to follow the link you provided ( https://www....
