Re: Question about taking college courses

Should I take this to mean that learning the language well enough to pick-up and read a Greek bible is not very obtainable, or that it will take decades of study? I realize that I'm not going to ever be considered a Greek scholar, but being able to read the New Testament is the only goal that would...

Re: Checking answers in Duff's "The Elements of New Testamen

I hadn't noticed that statement of rationale, but it does basically mean that this book does not cater for people who want to self study. Its disappointing because I purchased the book with the expectation that I would be able to learn greek, I am uncomfortable with the idea that I have to do exerci...

Re: New Testament Greek Vocabulary Assessment

Yea, I feel cheated after trying out your site. I got the number down to "3 words left" before you get something, and then I did a few more and it jumped up to "28 words left", its like it forgot that I had already done so many words.

That said, its good study practice :)

Re: Question about Living Koine materials

I love the newer materials, but how do you go with the pronunciation differences. I'm not a huge fan of imaginary pronunciation :)

Re: Checking answers in Duff's "The Elements of New Testamen

Sadly the links to the exercises on that page are all broken. Thanks for the pointer though. Ultimately I was hoping to be able to work through the book and check my answers; otherwise what is the point of the book?

Checking answers in Duff's "The Elements of New Testament.."

Im excited to renew/restart my effort in 2015 to learn koine/ancient greek, I've started going through this book. I am wondering if anyone knows of a place that contains answers to the exercises. The back has answers for some exercises, but not all. For example, I just wrote out the answers for the ...

Re: Question about Living Koine materials

The idea of materials for learning biblical greek, in the same style that other modern languages, is relatively new. Over time I expect there to be more and more resources.

Re: Beginner greek/english interlinear?

Setting aside for the minute I don't know anything about the "NET" translation, that looks perfect. Putting the greek and english on alternating pages is a good idea as well. At this point I am really interested in getting something with greek OT and NT -- I plan to learn Hebrew at some po...

Re: Beginner greek/english interlinear?

With regards to parallel vs interlinear, As per the attached screenshot, Im not that interested in this style. The english is printed twice, firstly on the left, and secondly interspersed in the greek.

Re: Beginner greek/english interlinear?

Jacob, I remember hoping that I would subliminally pick up on Greek as I read in my interlinear but it didn't really seem to work. If you invest in anything it should be the LXX bound with the NA/27 or UBS4. Good point for people to consider. Just owning something doesn't help you learn something, ...
