The former. My inability to spell whilst grumbling about the spelling of others is truly exceptional :D
The default font on the forum on Windows doesn’t help much, since χ looks so similar to κ in that font.

Todd wrote: November 11th, 2023, 9:21 pm Done. I found this forum through a Google search. I was looking for some info on a part of speech "aorist participle active" and there was a discussion on this forum somewhere that showed up in the search.
Excellent. Did you find what you were looking for?

Re: Hello

I am so glad I found this forum. I am currently taking Mounce's class "Greek for the Rest of Us" and expect to spend a lot of time here reading through stuff and posting the occasional question! :D Todd Hi, Todd, and welcome to the study of Koinē Greek! Mounce’s grammar is where I got sta...

Re: Beyer - Determined by Christ: The Pauline Metaphor ‘Being in Christ’

Not dedicated to analysis of the Greek, but judging by the table of contents there is enough there to justify inclusion on this board Unfortunately no title specific blurb here, but it deals with issues of the meaning of εν as a preposition, in ἐν Χριστῷ and other similar prepositional phrases , th...

Re: Ephesians 2:8 - τοῦτο...τὸ δῶρον

So, πίστεως can never be a δῶρον. How would you refer to πίστεως as a gift? If it were referring to faith as the gift, it would say something like τῇ γὰρ χάριτί ἐστε σεσῳσμένοι διὰ πίστεως καὶ αὕτη οὐκ ἐξ ὑμῶν ἀλλὰ θεοῦ ἐστὶ τὸ δῶρον (“For by grace you are saved through faith, and this [faith] is n...

Re: Jason Hare

For the sake of those who are new, I would add now that I’ve recently gone through the Athenaze series and feel stronger now in my Greek than ever. My study group is now reading through Lucian’s The Ass as an intermediate reader (the specific volume is available on Amazon ). The links above to my s...

Re: Complete paradigms for all GNT verbs?

I was wondering, has anyone developed and made available PDFs that show complete paradigms for all (more or less) verbs in the Greek New Testament? e.g. one PDF for λυω showing all forms for all tenses, moods, voices, number etc. and another for ειμι and another for etc etc etc. Is there any freely...

Re: Tech question: Greek and Hebrew fonts

Thank you, Jason, but I have run into a problem. I followed the instructions. I downloaded and installed all three fonts, SBL BibLit, SBL Greek, and SBL Hebrew. The trouble is that when I go to “Insert symbol” and look at the fonts on the screen, I see exactly the same font all three times … and it...
